About

Your metal is in expert hands.

Dubai is the city of gold. Over recent decades it has built a dominant position in the worldwide gold trade, supported by an unusually strategic location between producing regions and consuming markets. That is why we operate here.

Gloved hands rinsing a freshly cast gold bar under running water at the Sharjah refinery

Meridas runs two facilities: a commercial office in The Gold Center in Deira's Gold Souq, and a 250 m² refinery with a full-service assay laboratory in Sharjah's SAIF Zone. Our analytical equipment and expert personnel determine the purity of all precious metals we handle, so that what we return to a client is exactly what we say it is.

The Dubai office is responsible for material collection, customer handling and bullion trading, while the Sharjah refinery handles melting, assaying and refining.

We serve small local jewellers, wholesale jewellers and manufacturers — here in the UAE and globally — and maintain partnerships around the world.

How we started

Meridas was established in 2022 on a simple premise: the jewellers, wholesalers and manufacturers who keep the Gold Souq moving deserve a refiner whose numbers they can check. The trade here runs on trust, but trust is easier to extend when the assay is done by five methods rather than one, when every bar carries a serial number tied to its result, and when the licences, certificates and audit reports behind the business are public rather than produced on request.

That is what the two facilities are built for. The Sharjah refinery, with a daily capacity of 400kg, does the melting, assaying and refining; the Dubai office sits inside the district our clients work in, so handing over metal or settling a trade doesn't mean leaving the Souq. Certification to ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 and public responsible-sourcing reporting followed for the same reason — not as marketing, but so that a counterparty doing due diligence can verify every claim on this page without taking our word for it.

Transparency

Entity structure

Both entities are fully licensed, and both licence numbers are published here in full — not held back behind an onboarding form or an NDA. Take them to the authority that issued them and confirm us independently, in under a minute, before you send us a gram of metal.

That is the point of putting them on a public page: a due-diligence team should never have to take our word for who we are.
